PyPy
PyPy is a Python implementation in Python. Yes, it can interpret itself!

It includes a simple JIT compiler, [https://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Hans_Boehm/gc/ Boehm garbage collector] and a whole lot of "backends" - C, LLVM, JavaScript, CLI, Java.
